Pool-Hopping in Vegas: 5 Spots Open to Everyone
Did you know that you don’t have to be a hotel guest to use many of the pools in Vegas? It’s a great way to beat the summer heat and enjoy some family time in the sun! Check out these five options for your family this summer.
1. Blu Pool - Horseshoe Las Vegas
The Blu Pool at Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is a vibrant oasis nestled in the heart of the Strip! The website’s FAQ states, “The Blu Pool welcomes all guests, whether you are staying at the Horseshoe or not. Free general pool access is available on a first-come, first-served basis”.
This oversized, outdoor heated pool offers a relaxing yet lively atmosphere perfect for soaking up the sun. You and your family can unwind on lounge chairs (complimentary), daybeds, or in private cabanas equipped with amenities like TVs, refrigerators, and personal hosts (for an additional fee). The pool features a unique deep end that reaches 12 feet, making it one of the deepest Vegas pools. For added fun, the turf deck has outdoor games (like cornhole) if you want to take a break from the water!
The monorail stops right at the entrance of this pool. It is a great way to move about the city.
2. Family Pool - Flamingo Hotel & Casino
The Family Pool at the Flamingo Hotel offers a tropical escape for guests of all ages. Access to the pool is open to everyone and is free! Unlike the high-energy GO Pool (which caters to adults) the Family Pool is a calm, lagoon-style retreat designed with relaxation and family fun in mind.
A highlight for younger guests is the water slide, adding a playful element to the tranquil setting. With ample complimentary lounge chairs, shaded areas, and easy access to refreshments, it’s an ideal spot for you and your family to unwind and enjoy the sunny Las Vegas weather together.
While at Flamingo, be sure to visit the free Flamingo Habitat exhibit. It’s a great place to relax and see some really cool wildlife up close!
3. Garden of Gods Oasis Pools - Caesars Palace
The Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is a luxurious, Roman-inspired retreat that redefines the poolside experience on the Strip. Spanning over five acres, this complex features seven distinct pools, each offering a unique experience.
The pool area is surrounded by elegant columns, statues, and lush landscaping, evoking the grandeur of ancient Rome. According to their website, all guests are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to head there early so you can get in and grab a complimentary pool chair.
This pool does NOT allow any pool floats or pool toys, so be sure to leave those behind.
4. The Scene - Planet Hollywood
The pool at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas (known as The Scene Pool Deck) offers a rooftop escape with stunning views of the Strip and a fun atmosphere perfect for both relaxation and excitement. If you happen to be staying at Planet Hollywood, you can request a room that includes direct access to the pool from your room! But even if you aren’t a Planet Hollywood guest, you can still use The Scene pool.
There are two different pools at Planet Hollywood - a family-friendly North Pool and an adults-only South Pool, each perched on the hotel’s sixth floor.
Planet Hollywood also has a popular attraction called the FlowRider. It’s the Strip’s only professional free-standing wave machine, where guests aged 13 and up can try their hand at surfing or bodyboarding (for an additional fee.)
5. The Tank - Golden Nugget
The Tank Pool at the Golden Nugget in Downtown Las Vegas is one of the city's most iconic and thrilling aquatic attractions. This award-winning, $30 million pool complex features a 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium as its centerpiece, allowing you to swim just inches away from exotic marine life, including sharks and sting rays, all safely separated by clear acrylic walls.
Another highlight of the experience is the three-story water slide that winds through the shark tank, offering an adrenaline-pumping ride with a view like no other. Although not free, this unique experience may be worth paying for. Be sure to reserve in advance! Fees start at $25 per person and may vary based on occupancy and day of the week, check the website for full details.
If you want lunch, the Chick-fil-A restaurant inside of the Golden Nugget is super close to the pool area.
Las Vegas pools are more than just a place to cool off. From the shark-infused thrills of The Tank at the Golden Nugget to the Roman elegance of Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods, each pool offers a unique experience. So whether you're planning a summer getaway or a daycation on the Strip, don’t forget to pack your swimsuit for some poolside family fun!
