Five “Tee-riffic” family friendly golf activities in las Vegas
Golf courses in the desert may seem like an oxymoron. but golf has been a part of Las Vegas since the 1930s with many original courses associated with casinos. Today, Las Vegas is still full of golfing opportunities, from traditional golf courses to miniature golf courses to driving ranges. Check out these five family-friendly golf activities for your next Vegas family vacation.
1. Twilight Zone Mini Golf
Price Range: $ | Website
From the beginning, Las Vegas has been connected to the original Twilight Zone. After CBS decided to pick up Twilight Zone for Season 1, Rod Serling, the writer/producer, celebrated with a trip to Las Vegas. Then, he used that trip as inspiration for “The Fever”, an episode about Vegas and a talking slot machine.
To keep “The Fever” alive, visitors can now step into the Twilight Zone for a glow-in-the-dark mini-golf experience at Horseshoe Las Vegas. This indoor 18-hole journey will transport you to the 5th dimension! The 10,000-square-foot venue hosts more than just mini-golf - you will also experience a vibrant DJ who spins tunes and trivia for chances to win fun prizes.
After golf, enjoy arcade games, bowling lanes, and an alternate dimension gift shop. It’s a surreal experience for the whole family! The round of golf will take approximately 1 hour but you can spend as much time as you like in the arcade.
If you’re not staying at the Horseshoe or Paris Hotel, use the first-floor (food court) entrance to go to this attraction (on the Harmon side). This will allow you to avoid walking through the casino.
2. Kiss mini golf
Price Range: $ | Website
KISS loved playing in Vegas and regularly performed here. If you are a KISS fan or just looking for a unique mini golf experience, this is like getting a hole in one!
You can Rock & Roll for 18 holes on this KISS-themed mini golf course at the Rio Las Vegas. The indoor course is filled with state-of-the-art videos and never-before-seen KISS props. The 13,000-square-foot venue hosts more than just mini-golf. While golfing, a Tour Manager will provide friendly challenges, skill shots, contests, and trivia for prizes and rewards.
After golf, enjoy arcade games, the KISS World Museum, and a one-of-a-kind KISS-themed gift shop. The round of golf will take approximately 1 hour but you can easily spend another hour or more in the arcade and museum.
Be careful when wearing a white shirt; it can become translucent under the black lights on the mini golf course!
3. PopStroke Las Vegas
Price Range: $$ | Website
The roots of miniature golf can be traced back to the 1800s. However, the game seemed to explode during the Great Depression, when money was tight for hobbies. People made homemade courses out of whatever they could find. Then in the 1950s, Don Clayton founded Putt-Putt Golf Courses of America and standardized the game. PopStroke elevates the game of mini golf to a new level!
Located at Town Square Las Vegas (just south of the strip), PopStroke is a premium miniature golf destination with locations in six different states. There are two unique, outdoor, 18-hole courses at the Las Vegas location, with each course featuring synthetic fairways, challenging bunkers, and unexpected rough patches. Most people complete the 18 holes in under an hour.
After finishing a course or two, head to the clubhouse for a much-earned, tasty treat. The whole family will love the ice cream parlor and kids will love the playground.
Before you go, download the app! You can use it to check wait times, score your game, and even order food.
4. Topgolf las Vegas
Price Range: $$ | Website
If mini golf is not your thing, consider a driving range! It’s a nice compromise between mini golf and an 18-hole traditional golf course. Instead of playing on a traditional course, you can choose from a variety of virtual courses that range from options like Pebble Beach to more fun alternatives like Angry Birds or Sonic the Hedgehog-themed courses. There are also options for coach and play packages and junior lessons.
Food and drink are available, and outside food is not allowed. You pay by the hour so you can stay and play as long as you like. Topgolf is located behind MGM Grand on Koval Ave, and there’s a walkway from MGM Grand if you’re coming from that direction. You’ll walk through The District, where you can find some great restaurants, and then at the Spa Mezzanine, head toward the pool. Walk toward the Conference Center and follow the Topgolf/Wet Republic walkway.
Before you go, check the Topgolf Las Vegas website. Usually, there are several promotions if you are willing to play during non-peak hours.
5. atomic golf
Price Range: $$ | Website
Located near the Arts District at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, Atomic Golf has something for everyone: hitting bays, a putting district, food, and drinks. Atomic Golf also has a one-of-a-kind mini-golf experience with games like Bocce, Around the World, and Territory. The putting district has other fun activities for kids like a large Jenga and cornhole.
The Las Vegas Arts District is experiencing a renaissance. Here you’ll find a vibrant community of artists and creators. The Arts District is purposefully walkable, encouraging you to stop and explore the various shops and restaurants. If you are here the first Friday of any month, check out the First Friday festival!

Any of these five golf activities are sure to be a hit with the whole family! And if you’re looking for traditional golf, you can also make a reservation at the Wynn course (just expect to pay around $500 a person for that experience).
